Being born and raised on the Gulf Coast of Florida, you'd think it would be easy to see every beach location on this coast, but you'd be wrong. Even just 40 minutes from my doorstep, there exists dozens of beach locations and vacation getaways that I've never heard of or experienced. It's not that they're sub-par, but that there's just so many options. So it was a definite treat when we got to photograph this elegant wedding ceremony at the Manasota Beach Club, which I had only heard about before. Their little beach bungalows and seemingly private stretch of gulfside beach was the perfect place for a private ceremony of close friends and family. Sara and John chose to say their vows on a beautiful deck overlooking the gulf with live strings playing in the background.
Once the ceremony finished, guests headed to the Englewood Event Center for their reception. Guests were treated to live music by the groom's band, and they were totally awesome! They played covers of everyone's favorite songs for most of the night, while the bride and everyone else danced and had a blast. It was the first time we have seen the groom get on stage during a wedding and actually play some music! The band made for some great, unique reception photos and created a really fun atmosphere that you don't always get during receptions. We had a blast and, judging by the photos, so did the guests.
