This wedding was the first of two for this weekend, the other of which we will post later on. We arrived at Hollis Gardens, a public park in Lakeland, FL where the bride was getting ready just around the corner at the Terrace Hotel, which had a beautiful view of downtown Lakeland. I don't get to Lakeland much, and I was really impressed by how beautiful downtown is. It's pretty big and doesn't seem to be too busy as far as traffic. Despite this, everything is kept incredibly nice. The gardens themselves were stunning, as beautiful as any private gardens I've seen. The plants and flowers were obviously expertly kept.
The ceremony was held just behind the big fountain where guests could stand and sit. Immediately after, we were able to peruse the park and take plenty of portraits and wedding party portraits until sunset. The historic Magnolia Building provided the perfect backdrop for the reception where Grant Hemond and Associates rocked the reception. We love recommending this DJ group because they're so professional and their DJs are always top-notch. When we're shooting a reception, it always helps when the DJs can get the guests up and dancing, and these guys haven't failed us yet. Complete Weddings and Events set up a photo booth which provided an excellent backdrop and setting for some of the fun pirate photos we have in the gallery. Photo booths are so much fun for the guests and often provide some fun candids during the reception.
After a tiring day, we headed back to our hotel in Tampa to prepare for our small rustic backyard wedding in Dade City the following day. We're excited to post that one as well so, like always, keep an eye out on the blog!
