Fort DeSoto Park, Engagement Session

This awesome couple gave us the opportunity to shoot their engagement photos and it was a blast! First of all, in case you can’t tell in the photos, these two were made for each other. They were incredibly comfortable in front of the camera and with each other and they took each pose and made it their own in a really fun way. Sometimes couples have a hard time getting into a moment - be it romantic or just fun - when they have a camera pointed at them, but these two had no problem cracking each other up (probably at my expense).

About halfway through our session, we were walking through the park and ran into some picnickers feeding a small raccoon. The groom thought it would be funny to get close to the raccoon, who had absolutely no fear of humans. As he got closer, his fiancé shouts “fist bump that raccoon!” and rushed to his side. Just as he reached out his fist, the raccoon reached out too and made one of my all time favorite engagement photos.

After that, we walked the shoreline as the sun began to set and caught a quick photos as they watched it going down. All in all, this was a perfect engagement session.
